Best chokes has been in the market place since 1958. The employees of Vest Ventil have been servicing and selling the Varco/Best (NOV) chokes for more than 20 years into the Norwegian market. The company Varco/Best (NOV) is located in Houston, Texas, 100% owned by National Oilwell Varco. The company holds both API 6A license and the ISO 9001 DnV accreditation.
The Varco/Best (NOV) product line covers a complete line of chokes from 2.000 psi to 30.000 psi for use in wellhead assemblies, heater treater systems and production manifolds. The majority of chokes supplied into Norway is the MPC series chokes including the Varco/Best pneumatic Stepping Actuator type VBS 100 series. In addition Varco/Best (NOV) has developed a new series of In-Line chokes with great success. A number of In-Line chokes has been delivered over the last years. Many of them has been installed in severe service where traditional control valves has washed out after a short period in service.

The MPC series chokes features:

• Designed for low operating torque under all conditions.
• All trim sizes " maximum orifice and above (up to 6"/8") is pressure balanced to reduce torque.
• Seat wear monitor ( patented ) detects washout in wear sleeve before erosional damage can occur in the body.
• Bolted bonnet design for added safety.
• Large body reservoir eliminates body erosion.
• Extended seat length provides added wear protection to increased service life.
• Cage design reduces noise level by as much as 20 dBa.
• Can be fitted with any kind of actuator. ( Electric/Stepping Pneumatic / Hydraulic or Linear Diaphragm)
• Easy maintenance

The MPC In-Line Chokes features:

• Mainly the same as above, but in addition face to face dimensions can be achieved to meet those given for control valves in order to fit between existing pipe work.
• Downstream end cap design permits inspection without removing choke from the flow line. Also there is no need to disconnect any electrical connection with regards to an eventual actuator.
